I WANT TO APOLOGIZE!!!

Published by cathycouey under Acceptance Edit This

lemonadetn.jpg It would appear that I have more readers than I imagined.  I want to apologize first of all to all of you who read my blog regularly.  I have been out of town for a week and had a lot of things to do upon my return so I have been unable to post for awhile.  Second I must thank both of my friends who had the same idea on the same day.  My friend Robin, who is a true gem, and my friend Danny, who is the bomb, both decided to give me the Lemonade award on the same day and I was out of town.  so I will post it now.  Many thanks to both of you for your love and confidence in me.

For the rest of you, I ask that you visit both Robin and Danny by clicking their names.

Here is what the award is all about:

The concept is quite simple. It is all about finding people that display a great attitude and/or gratitude. In this day and time, that is very important to have. Once nominated, all one needs to do is add the logo that is on here and find 10 more bloggers to nominate. All of the rules are listed below.
When I first got nominated, I started thinking about who I knew that all had great attitudes. It was not hard for me to find the 10 that I wanted to nominate. I would have liked to give it away to more, but that would just have been greedy. So, without further ado, lets get this party started.

TESTIMONY TEUSDAY

Published by cathycouey under Acceptance Edit This

After searching the web for a while now I have noticed an interesting item.  It would seem that on a great number of other blogs they have what is called wordless Wednesday where they simply post a picture.  since we really can not do something like that I came up with an idea that would help me and get you the readers more involved.  I call it Testimony Tuesday.  Simply put it is an opportunity for each of you to send me your testimony of how you got clean or sober and allow me to post it on the site to encourage others in their own struggle to maintain sobriety.

Simply e-mail your testimony to me and I will post one for each Tuesday.  Be sure to use the words My Testimony as the subject.  all entries will remain anonymous.  Thank you for participating.

e-mail me: cathyisgodschild@live.com

World AIDS Day - 1st December

Published by cathycouey under Acceptance Edit This

 World AIDS Awareness Day

Red Ribbon

With today being World AIDS Awareness Day I just wanted to include it here.  That would be the reason for the red ribbon.  It is worn to bring awareness to this deadly disease that is still running rampant throughout the world.  You see many addicts are extremely susceptible to this disease.  The reason is their sexual promiscuity and also the sharing of needles in their drug use.  When someone is drunk or high their inhibitions are lowered and they do not think as clearly.  Therefore unprotected sex is rampant increasing their vulnerability to AIDS/HIV exponentially.  Another factor in the spread of AIDS/HIV in addicts particularly is the fact that so many heavy users tend to share needles in order to get high.  Do not get me wrong.  Not all addicts use needles.  Nor do all who use needles share them.  I’m not even saying that every addict or alcoholic has unprotected sex.  I am merely making you aware of a greater risk factor in these areas.  Hopefully awareness can help to stop the spread of AIDS/HIV.

You can not always tell that someone is infected with this disease just by looking at them.  It can remain dormant for many years although still being spread to others during that time.  If you are not sure or you want to get sure then get tested.  There are places that will test you for free.  Call around.

ACCEPT WHAT WE CAN NOT CHANGE!!!

Published by cathycouey under Acceptance Edit This

Today we practice accepting things we cannot change.  I did not vote for our new president but I do choose to accept him and I am grateful for him.  President Elect Obama is one of those things we just can not control even when we cast our vote.  As I have stressed we must learn to accept what we can not control, changing only the things we can and knowing the difference.  I can change my attitude toward our president and embrace him as being a part of God’s greater plan.  I ask that we all do that today.  That is all I have for today.  Thanks for letting me share.
