World AIDS Day - 1st December

 World AIDS Awareness Day

Red Ribbon

With today being World AIDS Awareness Day I just wanted to include it here.  That would be the reason for the red ribbon.  It is worn to bring awareness to this deadly disease that is still running rampant throughout the world.  You see many addicts are extremely susceptible to this disease.  The reason is their sexual promiscuity and also the sharing of needles in their drug use.  When someone is drunk or high their inhibitions are lowered and they do not think as clearly.  Therefore unprotected sex is rampant increasing their vulnerability to AIDS/HIV exponentially.  Another factor in the spread of AIDS/HIV in addicts particularly is the fact that so many heavy users tend to share needles in order to get high.  Do not get me wrong.  Not all addicts use needles.  Nor do all who use needles share them.  I’m not even saying that every addict or alcoholic has unprotected sex.  I am merely making you aware of a greater risk factor in these areas.  Hopefully awareness can help to stop the spread of AIDS/HIV.

You can not always tell that someone is infected with this disease just by looking at them.  It can remain dormant for many years although still being spread to others during that time.  If you are not sure or you want to get sure then get tested.  There are places that will test you for free.  Call around.

    Another great post Cathy.
Indeed, awareness about this dreadful disease is very important.

No one should come up tomorrow and say we didn’t know about it.
